The therapists
My name is Dana Franssen-Hassner.
I am a developmental psychologist (M.a), pedagogical advisor (Be.D, Ed.M) and integrative child therapist (i.o) at the Nederlandse Academie Psychotherapie.
After finishing my bachelor’s degree in Education, I studied developmental psychology at Columbia University in the U.S, in order to better know and understand children’s developmental stages and ways of thinking and understanding. After finishing this study, I went on to Harvard University where I completed a Master’s degree in Education, in order to further understand and analyze children’s thought processes and learning.
After finishing my study I worked with much pleasure at various schools, preschools and child care organizations in the United States, Israel and here, in The Netherlands. I am currently a 3rd year student at the Dutch Academy for psychotherapy.
In my work as an educator, teacher, developmental psychologist and pedagogical expert, I have come across many children and a variety of issues and problems, including autism, ADHD, ADD, cognitive problems, developmental delays and behavioral difficulties. In my work I realized how much these disabilities effect children, and their families.
During my 12 years of experience as a professional in the child care sector, I have repeatedly asked myself “What is going on in this child’s mind, and how can I help?” . I am fortunate to do what I have longed to do for so long – in my own child therapy practice – Talk en Play.
The sessions are conducted in Dutch, English or Hebrew.
I am Katrien D'hondt. I am a psychologist and a Child therapist (i.o.). While doing Play Therapy during my studies, I noticed that many children don't really feel happy and that many simply need some extra attention. Because children many times express what bothers them through play - so much is possible! I find therapy through play and creativity to be a wonderful way of reaching children. In my view each child deserves to simply be a child.....
